The Migration Authority has announced the number of irregular migrants deported within a week

Over 2,900 irregular migrants were captured and 1,761 deported in Turkey from May 26 to June 1. This brings the total returned to 41,337 this year.

The General Directorate of Immigration Administration under the Ministry of Interior announced that 2,910 irregular migrants were captured and 1,761 were deported from May 26 to June 1 across the country.

According to the post made on the directorate’s social media account, in the last week across the country, 788 irregular migrants from Afghanistan, 95 from Pakistan, and 2,027 from other nationalities were captured, totaling 2,910.

394 irregular migrants from Afghanistan, 16 from Pakistan, and 1,351 from other nationalities, totaling 1,761, who were identified and caught entering the country through illegal means, were deported.

In the context of combating irregular migration, the number of irregular migrants returned to their countries from January 1 to June 1 reached 13,233 from Afghanistan, 1,848 from Pakistan, and 26,256 from other nationalities, totaling 41,337.

Thanks to the security measures taken at the borders, the number of irregular migrants who were prevented from entering the country illegally in the last week was recorded as 3,988. The number of irregular migrants prevented from entering the country from New Year’s Day until June 1 was 100,893.

In the return centers, there are still 4,102 irregular migrants from Afghanistan, 1,709 from Pakistan, and 10,778 from other nationalities, totaling 16,589. (AA)
