DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR MARRIAGE PROCESSES TO BE DONE BY MOROCCO AUTHORITIES, 27.5.2022

For Turkish citizens:

* As of January 3, 2022, the translations of documents that have not been translated in Turkey and that have not been certified as “apostille” must be translated by sworn translators registered at our Embassy and must be brought to our Embassy at the time of application to be certified.

** Documents brought from Turkey that do not have “apostille” certification are not accepted by Moroccan authorities.

For marriage procedures, first of all, an appointment should be made from the Consular Branch of our Embassy using the address “konsolosluk.gov.tr”.

1. Passport

2. T.R. ID card

3. A certified copy of the birth certificate to be obtained from the population directorate and its approved Arabic translation (the document and its translation from Turkey must be certified as “apostille” in our district governorships).

4. Criminal record paper to be taken from the courthouse and its certified Arabic translation (The document and its translation from Turkey must be certified with an “apostille” by our district governors. This document can also be given in Arabic by our Embassy.)

5. Signed and approved income certificate and certified Arabic translation to be taken from the workplace and showing the income status (documents and translations from Turkey must be “apostille” certified by our district governors). This document CANNOT BE ISSUED by our Embassy.

6. Document showing the address of residence to be obtained from the population directorate or the headman’s office and its certified Arabic translation (The document and its translation from Turkey must be certified with “apostille” by our district governorships. This document CANNOT BE ISSUED by our Embassy.

7. Court decision and approved Arabic translation for divorced ones (Documents and translations from Turkey must be certified as “apostille” by our district governors. This document CANNOT be issued by our Embassy.)

8. Photocopies of the above documents must also be brought

For foreign nationals:

As of January 3, 2022, translations in Morocco must be done by sworn translators registered at our Embassy.

Groom and bride to be married should apply to the Consular Branch of our Embassy in person with the above documents.

Following the examination of the documents, additional documents requested by the Moroccan authorities (marriage license certificate and similar documents) will be issued by our Consular Branch and given to the relevant persons.

In order for the marriage to be registered in Turkey; After the marriage contract is signed in front of the Moroccan authorities, the Arabic original of the marriage certificate should be certified by the Moroccan authorities and the Turkish translation should be made by sworn translators registered in our Embassy, ​​then the certified original and translation of the marriage certificate should be brought to the Consular Branch of our Embassy.
