The condition that a person is bound by citizenship to more than one state at the same time is called dual citizenship. In the relevant law, (Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901) this situation is explained with the sentences “Multi-citizenship: It means that a Turkish citizen has more than one citizenship at the same time,”.. span>
Although Turkish laws allow dual citizenship, it is not possible to create dual citizenship if the laws of other states that are entitled to a citizenship relationship do not allow multiple citizenship.
There are some requirements for dual citizenship to occur. These are:
