According to the addition made in Article 29 of the Turkmenistan Immigration Law, a related decree was signed by the President of Turkmenistan on July 1, 2012.

As a result of the restrictions imposed on the flights of international transportation vehicles in accordance with the said decree, in connection with the epidemic of infectious disease that has emerged in the world, The validity period of the passports of Turkmenistan citizens whose validity period expired between 1 January 2020 – 30 December 2022 (the passport of a Turkmenistan citizen to leave Turkmenistan and come to Turkmenistan) is 31 It is being extended until December 2022.

For this reason, it is foreseen that if Turkmenistan citizens apply to the Turkish Embassy or Istanbul Consulate General of Turkmenistan for the extension of the passport period, relevant notes will be written on the passport.

The Embassy considers that the flights to Turkmenistan are still closed by planes and other transportation vehicles, and that the above-mentioned issues regarding the provision of the necessary assistance for the citizens of Turkmenistan to be in Turkey and the extension of the Turkmenistan passport have been taken into consideration by the Turkish Republic. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, General Directorate of Migration Management and other institutions and organizations involved in issuing residence and work permits for foreign citizens are requested to assist the esteemed Ministry as soon as possible. .
