Immediate Steps After Losing Your Passport in Turkey

1. Report the Loss to the Local Police

Go to the nearest police station (Polis Merkezi) right away. Tell them your passport is lost or stolen. The officers will write a "Passport Loss Report" (Pasaport Kayıp Tutanağı).

2. Contact Your Embassy or Consulate

• Emergency Travel Document (ETD): This lets you fly home for one trip. It's a temporary fix.
• New Passport Application: If you live here, apply for a full replacement. But be careful. Some consulates take weeks to print a new one.
