Learn exactly which financial documents are required for your Turkey residence permit application to ensure a smooth and successful approval process for your stay.

Why You Need Financial Proof for a Residence Permit

Turkish authorities want to know you can support yourself. You shouldn't need help from the state's social system. So, you must show a steady income for your whole stay. If you don't provide clear papers, they might reject your residence permit application.

Categories of Accepted Income Documents

Your income source determines which papers you need. Every document must be up to date. They must clearly show your name and how much money you have available right now.

Documents for Retired People

Are you retired? You'll need to prove your pension status. The migration office usually asks for these items:

  • Pensioner ID and Allocation Document: These show you're a retiree. They also list the monthly amount you get.
  • Bank Statements: Get recent records showing your pension going into your account.
  • International Credit Cards: These work as extra proof. They show you have access to emergency cash if needed.

Documents for Salaried Employees

If you work for a company, you must prove your salary. You'll need to provide these specific documents:

  • Certified Income Statement: Your boss writes this to state your net monthly pay. It must show your wages have no legal deductions.
  • Employer Letter: This needs a company letterhead and a stamp. It should list your job title and how long you've worked there.
  • Payroll Records: Use recent payslips. Make sure the company's official representative signs and stamps them.

Documents for Business Owners and the Self-Employed

Business owners face more checks. You must show that your company is active and making money. You'll need to provide these papers:

  • Tax Plate (Vergi Levhası): Provide a copy of the current year's tax certificate.
  • Trade Registry Gazette: These show when you started the company and who owns it today.
  • Signature Circular: This notarized paper shows who can sign for the business.
  • Financial Statements: You need balance sheets from the last three years. A CPA or the tax office must approve them.
  • Activity Certificate: Get a recent one from the Chamber of Commerce.

Documents for Investors and Property Owners

Do you live off rental income or investments? You'll need specific proof for these assets to get your permit:

  • Bank Deposit Income: Show statements for interest or dividends you've earned.
  • Proof of Funds: Get a bank letter showing your total balance. It should cover your costs for the whole permit period.
  • Rental Income Proof: You'll need the original title deed (Tapu) and a lease. The lease shouldn't be older than two years.

Legalizing Foreign Documents for Your Residence Permit

Did you get your papers outside of Turkey? You must follow a specific process to make them valid here. Follow these three steps:

  1. Apostille or Legalization: Get an Apostille in your home country. If your country isn't in the Hague Convention, use the Turkish Consulate.
  2. Certified Translation: A sworn translator must translate everything into Turkish.
  3. Notarization: A Turkish notary must then approve the translation.

Key Tips for Your Residence Permit Income Proof

Usually, the office wants your monthly income to match the Turkish minimum wage. But if you're getting a family residence permit, you need enough for everyone. Keep your original papers ready for the interview. And make sure your bank signs and stamps every statement. This helps you get your residence permit without any stress.
