Discover the essential steps and documents required for foreigners to obtain work permits and residence permits in Turkey through the e-government system.

Understanding the Mission Document for Curfew Exemptions

From April 29 to May 17, 2021, Turkey entered a full closure. The Ministry of Interior created a mandatory mission document to help workers. This paper lets people in essential jobs travel during curfews. It keeps factories and supply chains moving while stopping the virus from spreading. You need this to get to work safely.

How to Apply for a Mission Document

You can get your mission document through the e-Devlet platform. The system is fast and checks your details automatically. It makes sure your exemption is real before giving you the pass.

Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Log in to the e-Government portal with your password.
  2. Search for the Ministry of Interior "e-Application" (e-Başvuru) service.
  3. Pick the option for a mission document.
  4. The system checks your SGK records and your workplace code.
  5. If your job is on the list, the system makes the document for you.

Details Included in the Mission Document

Police will check your paper during inspections. It must have your ID info and your specific job role. It also needs your work hours and shift times. Don't forget to include your home and work addresses. If you use a car, list the license plate too. Once you print it, your boss must sign it to make it official.

Manual Mission Documents (Annex-1)

Sometimes the e-Devlet system crashes or gets too busy. If that happens, you can use a manual form called Annex-1. This paper only lasts for three days. Both you and your manager must sign it. But you should try to get the electronic version as soon as the site works again.

Responsibilities and Legal Obligations

You and your employer are responsible for the truth. Your boss must confirm you're truly needed at work. And you must only travel between your home and the office. Police check these forms against their own data. If the info is wrong, you could face legal trouble or fines. It's not worth the risk to use it for personal trips.

Public Personnel Mission Statements

Public sector workers use a different form called Annex-2. A manager at your institution will sign this for you. Just like private jobs, it only covers your commute. And you must follow the specific route to your office. This keeps the number of people on the streets low.

Travel and Funeral Permits

The Ministry made other permits easier to get on e-Devlet too. You can apply for travel permits directly on the site. There's also a special service for funeral leave. The system now links with Ministry of Health data. So, you don't need to upload death certificates yourself anymore. It's a much faster way to handle things during a hard time.

Final Thoughts on the Mission Document

Getting your mission document is a key step for working during lockdowns. It keeps you legal and helps the country stay safe. Make sure your info is current and your boss has signed the paper. Stay safe on the roads.
