The type of residence permit given to foreign nationals who are deemed necessary to stay in Turkey for humanitarian reasons is called “humanitarian residence permit”. A humanitarian residence permit can be issued to people who do not have a residence permit, but who have a valid reason, such as those who have a Turkish citizen child or who are being treated in Turkey.
To whom is the humanitarian residence permit issued?
In the regulation of Foreigners and International Protection Law No. 6458 M.46 and onwards, it is said “when the child’s best interests are in question”. In this case, even if the mother is not in a legal position in Turkey, which country no matter if he/she is a citizen of Turkey, he/she can obtain humanitarian residence directly because he/she has a child of a Turkish citizen.

It covers people who are inconvenient to go to their country or people who are being treated in Turkey.
