Want Turkish citizenship without buying property? There's another route: a bank deposit.

Deposit at least $500,000, or the equivalent in another convertible currency, at a bank in Turkey, and keep it blocked for three years.

Our advice: keep the full amount in one bank. One account and one blocking order keep the file simple.

Once your money is converted and blocked, exchange-rate swings don't matter, and it can't be withdrawn during the three years. Only closing the account early would put your citizenship at risk.

The money stays yours, and it can earn interest. Only the principal is locked. Check the blocking terms with your bank.

One update: YUVAM accounts are closed to new investors. A standard term deposit is used instead.

The steps: tax number, bank account, deposit and block, the BDDK certificate of conformity, a residence permit, and then the application.

Your spouse and children under 18 are included, and investment files typically finish in 3–6 months.
