Understand the current regulations regarding entry bans for Uzbekistan citizens who overstayed their legal right of stay in Turkey during the pandemic period.

The Migration Administration recently shared an update about the entry ban Turkey rules for people stuck during the pandemic. If you couldn't leave because of COVID-19 travel stops, you won't face a penalty for that specific time. But you must follow the timeline to avoid trouble.

You had to leave Turkey within one month of flights starting again for your specific country. If you stayed past that 30-day window, you'll face an administrative fine and a formal entry ban under Law No. 492. It's best to check your dates carefully to stay legal.

How the Entry Ban Turkey Works After Overstaying

Take Uzbekistan as a concrete example. Flights resumed on September 4, 2020. This meant the extra time for Uzbek citizens ended on October 4, 2020. If you stayed past that date, the authorities apply bans based on the length of your violation.

The length of the ban depends on how long you stayed past your legal limit:

  • 3 to 6 months overstay: 1-month entry ban
  • 6 months to 1 year overstay: 3-month entry ban
  • 1 to 2 years overstay: 1-year entry ban
  • 2 to 3 years overstay: 2-year entry ban
  • Over 3 years overstay: 5-year entry ban

So, make sure you verify your exit dates. If you owe a fine, pay it at the customs desk before you leave. This helps you avoid a longer entry ban and keeps your travel record clean for the future.
