New Entry Regulations for Northern Cyprus (TRNC)
The Council of Ministers just shared the new entry regulations for Northern Cyprus (TRNC). This plan sets clear dates for when you can enter the country again. It covers citizens, permit holders, and tourists. The government wants to fix the economy while keeping everyone safe.
Phased Reopening Schedule
The reopening happens in three steps. Each group of travelers has different rules for testing and staying in quarantine. These rules help the Ministry manage health risks at the border.
Phase 1: TRNC Citizens (Starting June 1)
Phase 1 starts on June 1. This is for TRNC citizens currently living abroad. If you're a citizen in Turkey or elsewhere, you can come home now. But you must stay in quarantine for a set time. During this first step, the state pays for your stay.
Phase 2: Residence and Work Permit Holders (Starting June 8)
Starting June 8, the borders open for people with legal status. This includes those with a work permit or a residence permit. Students can also return. Unlike citizens, you'll have to pay for your own quarantine. The Ministry of Finance is still picking the hotels and setting the prices for this group.
Phase 3: International Tourism (Starting July 1)
The TRNC plans to welcome tourists on July 1. This date might change if health conditions get worse. Your entry rules will depend on where you're flying from. Some countries are safer than others.
Understanding the New Entry Regulations for Northern Cyprus (TRNC)
The Ministry of Health will keep a list of high-risk and low-risk countries. These lists tell you what you need to do to enter. And they can change quickly based on new data.
- Low-Risk Countries: You can enter by showing a negative PCR test. You won't have to stay in quarantine if your test is clear.
- High-Risk Countries: You need a negative PCR test before you fly. Once you land, you must also pay for a mandatory quarantine stay.
Reopening of Casinos and Business Rules
Casinos can open again on June 1. But there's a catch. Owners must pay all their state fees first. If they haven't paid their debts, they won't get a license to open. The government is being very strict about this financial rule. They want to make sure every business follows the law before they start serving guests again.
Financial Costs for Travelers
You need to plan your budget for these new entry regulations for Northern Cyprus (TRNC). While the state helps its citizens, everyone else must pay their own way. This includes workers, students, and holiday seekers. These costs cover your room and food at state centers. So, check your country's risk level before you buy a ticket. It could save you a lot of money and time.
