14.04.2021 New Restrictions Include Foreign National Persons
Discover the latest regulations regarding travel and curfews for foreign nationals living in or visiting Turkey to ensure your stay remains compliant with laws.
* 14.04.2021 *DATED **Partial Closures**
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently announced new safety measures for the country. These rules mean the curfew for foreigners now applies to almost everyone living in Turkey.
Are you visiting Turkey for a short holiday? If so, you're in luck. The curfew doesn't apply to tourists on temporary trips. But if you live here on a residence permit, you must follow the same rules as Turkish citizens.
On weekdays, people aged 65 and over can go out between 10:00 and 14:00. If you're under 18, your window is 14:00 to 18:00. You should stay home outside these hours. Also, these two age groups cannot use public transport like the metro or buses at any time.
Planning to travel between cities during the curfew? You can only do this using public transport like planes, buses, or trains. You'll need to show proof of your trip to the officers. A ticket or a reservation code works perfectly. This proves you have a valid reason to be out and about.
Understanding the Rules of Partial Closures
Moving around the city requires a bit more planning now. If you have a job that requires you to be out, keep your work papers ready. Officers may ask to see them. It's also a good idea to keep your passport or residence card with you at all times. This helps you avoid any trouble with the local authorities.
So, make sure you check the clock before you head out. Rules can change fast, and we want you to stay safe. Following these steps ensures you stay on the right side of the law during these Partial Closures.
